Casey Daigle
The crew from "Kent Hrbek Outdoors" was in the Twins clubhouse Monday, interviewing Justin Morneau for a segment that will run on the television show in April.
After the interview, Hrbek and Morneau were headed out to do some bass fishing.
Watching the two Twins first basemen — past and present — talk to each other was quite a sight, and before they left the clubhouse they stumbled upon a performance.
Michael Cuddyer was doing card tricks for pitcher Casey Daigle and catcher Joe Mauer.
Mauer had seen the tricks before, but newcomer Daigle kept saying, "You’ve got to be kidding me."
Cuddyer worked his magic on the same table where players were eating lunch.
Hrbek seemed more impressed after spotting a big box of cookies.
"Watch this," Hrbek said, reaching over Cuddyer’s cards to grab a cookie. "I’ll make this one disappear."
Opening Day mystery
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire probably won’t name an Opening Day starter until his pitchers take two or three turns through the rotation.
For now, the only scheduled starting pitchers are Scott Baker on Thursday, Boof Bonser on Friday, Randy Keisler on Saturday and Livan Hernandez on Sunday.
First, the Twins will play Concordia (St. Paul) today in a six- or seven-inning scrimmage. The Twins will use eight pitchers. Nick Blackburn actually will start for Concordia.
1. How difficult has it been after being cited in the Mitchell Report for purchasing human growth hormone?
"When it came out, I just felt it was my responsibility to speak to the guys in the [Twins] front office. I didn’t want any question marks. I didn’t want them wondering what the deal was. … It’s kind of still in this gray area [over possible suspensions], so we have to wait and see what happens."
2. The spotlight found you last year in Toronto, when Alex Rodriguez screamed at you, causing a missed pop-up that led to a five-run rally.
"[Blue Jays shortstop] John McDonald and I have talked about it, and if we had just caught the ball, it wouldn’t be a big deal. People ask about it, and it doesn’t bother me."
3. This is your 17th professional season. What are your thoughts on this team?
"I’ve always respected the way the Twins have gone about their business. I’ve played against them since I was in the Gulf Coast League [in 1992]. They do a good job of developing players. The guys who come through [Class AAA] Rochester, they come to Minnesota, and they don’t skip a beat."
"This is a game. We’re not going to screw around. Well, we always screw around. We’re just going to have fun playing baseball." — Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, describing his team’s approach to today’s Concordia scrimmage.

Turns out old “el rushbo” was pissed off that Mrs. Casey won the auction. Apparently he was counting on his buddy to win the auction so it could go on a nation wide tour. So anyway, Mrs. Casey has yet to receive her letter and Rush will not accept her calls. The only proof I have is that my boss is personal friends with Mrs. Casey.I suppose I could ask my boss to see if she’s up for some sort of phone interview about the whole ordeal. Anyway, just thought I’d share this with you guys. It’s an interesting little bit of info that’s not been made public, I just found out today. In case you need some refreshing, this is what I’m talking about: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/20/washington/19cnd-letter.htmlEDIT: This info was from two weeks ago when my boss was in DC. Unless Rush pulled his head from his ass in the past two weeks, the info remains true.
But Christians are supposed to believe that these things are wrong, and they go around making laws based on their beliefs. Then they don’t actually do the things they “believe” they are commanded to do - and in many cases do worse things than people who don’t even believe. It’s called hypocrisy, and it is really annoying.
To the Ron Paul skeptics, notice the last question:”Are you a believer in a strict separation of church and state?”RP: “Yes.”
It’s not suggested that this is out of the ordinary, it is suggested that it is ironic that she is carrying a child out of wedlock who was fathered by a man she met at a place where conceiving a child out of wedlock is frowned upon.
The gay crack smoker didn't work out either.
I understand the hypocrisy, I also understand that almost everything that can happen will happen. And since the vast majority are god fearing idiots, most of those weird things will happen to them.No mystery.
You know, I’m an atheist, but this is stupid. With over 80% of all Americans being christians, seems like the majority of everything is going to happen to them, so it isn’t out of the ordinary when this type of stuff happens.I can’t believe I’m being downmodded for pointing out that since the vast majority believe in god, many of them will meet in church, and we all know how good abstinence programs work.
Ok, if it wasn’t out of the ordinary, would it be ironic, or would it be normal?I get the hypocrisy. Hypocrisy in the religious is not out of the ordinary. And, since the vast majority of people are religious, they will make the vast majority of the life mistakes.
