The page you’re looking for doesn’t seem to be here. Sorry about that. If you got here from a link on our site, we’d appreciate it if you could let us know. Columbia’s morning newspaper: In print every day and open late on the Web. Copyright 2007. All rights reserved.
Just as an FYI, the NY Daily news is a piece of trash newspaper that is peddled to everyone getting on the subway. Doesn’t make the story any less true, but keep in mind that it’s a tabloid for ads.
Maricopa County keeps some of its prisoners in a tent city. I strongly doubt the one linked really has 60,000 people, but the Maricopa county one can hold ~2,500.
Our economy is built on a house of cards: we no longer manufacture anything, everyone works in the “service” industry (selling cell phones at a kiosk in the middle of a mall to the burger flippers at a food court). We’re encouraged to keep spending our money to keep the house of cards up (even now with the rebate checks). What we’re seeing is the collapse of the house of cards. Sure, some sections will still stand, but entire wings of the house will be gone.
And for all your Christians who think “This is unacceptable”, would you have the same thought if they were preaching a different religion? People are people and it’s time to start caring for (and about) them as such.
“Pastor Isa Bajalia, 47, a US citizen born in Birmingham, Alabama, said that he had been threatened over the last two months by a Fatah security official from the Tanzim militia who also demanded $30,000 in protection money.”Imagine that…protection monies, wonder how much they charged the religion of peace?
I’m not arguing the fact that there’s more service based jobs than manufacturing based jobs in the economy. I’m saying despite that, we’re still the largest manufacturer in the world. A far cry from your earlier statement that “we don’t manufacture anything anymore.”
