Your advice about confusing desire and infatuation with love is good advice; however, I’m fairly certain (although one can never be SURE in such situations) that it’s love or close to it. And really, it’s not like I’d be any less miserable if it WERE only infatuation - haven’t you ever had a hopeless crush?

“Time is the only remedy for longing” Yeah, right. I have lost the man I’ve loved fo years two years ago and the healing effect of time has not set in yet. Not at all. I’m still kind of broken. The whole getting punched in the face thing is more of a male thing to do, I guess. Any other ideas for a remedy?

I didn’t get laid on New Year’s even though I have a girlfriend. We were both over at her mother’s house New Year’s eve. My girlfriend lost her father recently after a 12 year fight with cancer. Her mother is getting used to the idea of life and the holidays without her husband, so we went over to make sure her mother had company.There are lots of things more important than getting laid. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you get to stop worrying about it!

I was once one of those without, for a long, long time, so I know both sides now. Also, I had a band-mate who has a ho-train 5 miles long. His secret? He is actually interested in women as people first. Well, being tall, playing the bagpipe, and having long strawberry blonde hair helps too.Another tip — if your social circle includes a sensitive bagpiper with long strawberry blonde hair, and you dig folky women, you need to look for a girlfriend elsewhere. When he’s in town, all the folky chicks can do is think of him. I met my current girlfriend at a school of public health grad student party.But the best tip — date black women. Many non-black people don’t want to, as dating site statistics show. Yet there are many beautiful, smart, caring black women out there. It’s just like the stock market! Look where the masses aren’t to find your treasure.
